Restore the Tappan Zee Name to Our Bridge

In 2017, former Governor Cuomo renamed the Tappan Zee Bridge the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge in a late-night, backroom deal, without any local input.

The truth is, if he could have named it the Andrew M. Cuomo Bridge, he would have.

It was wrong then and it’s wrong today!

Now, having resigned in disgrace and destroying the family legacy, we need to remove the stain of the Cuomo name from the bridge.

We MUST restore the Tappan Zee name to bridge and recognize the Native American and Dutch heritage in our region!

It’s why I’ve introduced Assembly Bill 6594 to change the name back!

Sign today to tell my colleagues in the state legislature and Governor Hochul it’s time to return the bridge to its rightful name: The Tappan Zee!
