Lawler To Run For Assembly Against Jaffe In AD-97

Republican strategist Mike Lawler will announce today that he is challenging Assemblymember Ellen Jaffe (D) in the 97th Assembly District. Lawler cut his political teeth working on the 2008 presidential election of Senator John McCain. He also worked for the New York Republican State Committee and managed the Astorino for Governor campaign in 2014. Lawler is a native New Yorker. He graduated from Manhattan College with a degree in Business Administration and was named Valedictorian.

Jaffe was elected to the Assembly in 1997. She is currently Chair of the Assembly Committee on Children and Families.

The 97th Assembly District runs along the New Jersey border and includes all or part of Suffern, Spring Valley, Pearl River, Orangeburg, and Nyack. 

Lawler will have a campaign kickoff event on Saturday, March 7th at 10am at the Blauvelt Sons of Italy.
